Understand the product workflow
An automated trading workflow generally combines a strategy, market data, broker authentication, order handling and monitoring. Dark Logic Algo’s Upstox desktop package is designed for a supported workflow, but precise feature availability should be confirmed for the current version and your account.
The software sends instructions through a third-party broker API. Broker access, permissions, rate limits, instrument availability and API behaviour are determined by Upstox and may change. Consult the current Upstox developer documentation rather than relying on an old setup video or an assumed feature list.
Set up with care
Before installation, check the included guide and verify your device and account prerequisites. Keep credentials private, use only official authentication flows, and do not paste tokens or API secrets into support messages. Confirm that the selected account and product type are correct before enabling any order automation.
Test every strategy rule and order path without risking money where a sandbox or paper workflow is available. Check how to disable automation, inspect order status, and manage open positions from Upstox itself. Software risk settings do not remove market, broker or connectivity risk.
Compatibility checklist
If you need a specific segment, order type, session or risk control, contact support with that requirement before relying on the package. Ask which version is current and what has been verified against Upstox’s latest API rules.
- Current app version and supported Windows environment
- Upstox API access and authentication requirements
- Supported instruments and order settings for your account
- How rejected, partial or delayed orders are surfaced and monitored
